KATAKWI: The LC3 chairman of Kapujan sub-county has issued a stern warning to young people about the consequences of stealing poultry, particularly chickens, at night.
Michael Iremaut condemns a gang of adolescents from the villages of Ariet, Kelim, and Ocelakweny in Kapujan for invading the community and stealing chickens.
The gang employed a novel method of watering the hens so they would not make noise during the robbery.

Iremaut noted that this newly developed technique by the youth led to an increase in theft cases in the sub-county.
He mentioned that a key team leader, known as Hajji, from Ocelakweny Village, Kapujan Sub-county, was recently arrested for theft and is currently in custody. This arrest has brought some stability to the situation.
Iremaut emphasized that even in quiet times, young people should avoid the temptation of stealing and instead engage in productive activities that require effort and hard work.
Under Ugandan law, stealing is forbidden, and those found guilty face prison sentences.
