BUYENDE – Police in Buyende district has dismissed D/IP Balikowa Godfrey, the incharge CID at Namusita police post from Force for scandalous behavior and charged with raping a 30-year-old housewife from Kalambo village, Ndolwe sub-county.
The victim, who had initially gone to report domestic violence against her husband, Odere Ronald, on 12.10.2023 at around 11:00 AM, was accompanied by a team of 3 police officers.
Unable to find the husband at home, the victim, fearing to return, was taken by one of the officers to Nakabira police barracks.
Instead of providing shelter, he sexually assaulted her twice after buying her food and drinks. The next morning, he dropped her near Namusita police post, promising to arrest her husband.
   Subsequently, Odere Ronald was arrested during the day, and after reconciling, he paid for his wife’s treatment.
SCP Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, urging caution for female victims/suspects when dealing with officers of the opposite sex.
