Police Retrieves Toddler from Deep Pit Latrine in Kayunga

KAYUNGA – The Fire Brigade and Rescue Services in Kayunga have successfully rescued a one-and-a-half-year-old girl from a perilous 50-feet pit latrine in Sinda Kivuluba village, Kasawo Town Council, Nagalama Division, Mukono District.

The child accidentally fell into the latrine on October 7, 2023, while attempting to relieve herself. Upon realizing the situation, the caretaker promptly reported the incident to the police.

Thanks to the timely response and effective actions of our dedicated rescue team, the little girl’s life was saved.

Following the rescue operation, she was swiftly transported to Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital for comprehensive medical attention.

Hellen Bototo, the Police spokesperson for Sezibwa region, praised the rescue team for their unwavering commitment and swift response, which led to a positive outcome in this challenging rescue mission.
