RUBANDA – Police in Rubanda District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified adult male whose decomposed body was found in a trench at Hataaba cell, Shebeya Parish in Hamurwa Sub County.
According to Elly Maate, the spokesperson for the Kigezi region Police, the deceased is estimated to be between 25 to 35 years old. He was described as tall, with a stout build, a shaved head, and was wearing a short-sleeved shirt with squared black and white strips, along with long trousers that appear to be Navy blue. He also had white stockings and was circumcised.
Maate mentioned that the locals of Hataaba cell discovered the body last Saturday around 05:00 PM while passing through a small path from Hamurwa cell to Hataaba cell. The locals immediately informed the area chairperson, Karabahite Demiano, who subsequently reported the matter to the police.
Upon receiving the report, the police visited the scene, processed, and documented it. The body was retrieved from the swamp and transported to Kabale Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Elly Maate is now urging anyone who may be missing a loved one fitting the description provided to visit Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for identification and to facilitate a dignified burial for the deceased.
