RUKUNGIRI – Authorities in Rukungiri District have initiated an investigation into the reported murder of 51-year-old Patience Kyozire.
Kyozire, a resident of Kinyamatojo cell in Nyabubare parish, Bwambara sub-county, Kyozire was allegedly killed under mysterious circumstances.
According to a police statement released on October 29, 2023, around 11:00 PM at Burambira Trading Center, the victim was present at the bar owned by Henry Orikiriza, accompanied by Yoramu Banturaki and Sam’s son, residents of the nearby village of Bitereko.
The lifeless body of Patience Kyozire was discovered on October 30, 2023, approximately at 7:30 AM in the compound of Turyasingura Henry.
Turyasingura Annah made the grim discovery and promptly informed the area chairperson, Ochan Byakatonda, who then reported the incident to Bwambara Police Station.
Elly Maate, the Police spokesperson for the Kigezi Region, confirmed that the crime scene was thoroughly examined and documented.
The deceased’s body was subsequently transported to the mortuary at Rwakabengo Health Centre III for postmortem analysis.
