KABALE – Police in Kabale District are currently investigating three cases of Aggravated Defilement that were reported within a span of three days.
According to a statement released by the police, two cases were reported on October 21, 2023. The first case involved a 31-year-old man, identified as Ambrose Rukundo, a teacher by profession and resident of Kibuzije village, Rubanda district. Rukundo, detained at Kabale Central Police station allegedly defiled a 17-year-old pupil at Triple M Primary School in Kabale.
The second incident on the same day involved a 13-year-old girl who was attacked and defiled by two male adults, Dan and Akim, from Rushaki cell, Southern division, Kabale municipality. The suspects are currently on the run.
Now, Police has this morning reported another case of defilement that occurred on October 23, 2023. The victim is identified as Arinda Tracy, a seven-year-old female juvenile and pupil at Kabahesi Nursery and Primary School.
Tracy, a resident of Shooro village, Buhara Sub County in Kabale district, was allegedly defiled by Mulengyezi Silver, a 19-year-old Rwandan National and casual laborer from Kabahesi village. The incident took place between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
Tindiwegyi Mable, a 65-year-old female adult and resident of Kabahesi village, reported the incident. She mentioned that Tracy was noticed wearing her underwear upside down by her sister, Mackline. The scene of the crime was subsequently visited, examined, and documented by D/SP Mukama Hakim, D/CID/O, district Soco, and the in-charge gender.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson, stated that relevant statements from witnesses were obtained, the victim underwent examination, and the suspect, Mulengyezi Silver, was arrested and detained.
