IBANDA: A 16-year-old boy is on the run after allegedly cutting off a man’s testicles in Bisheshe Division, accusing him of being intimate with his mother.

The suspect, identified as Crescent Tindyebwa, is accused of attacking 42-year-old Joseph Ahimbisibwe, also known as Kitengye, a resident of Kigarama Cell, Kigarama Ward, Bisheshe Division in Ibanda District. Tindyebwa allegedly accused Ahimbisibwe of being involved with his mother, Annet Kyarisiima.

The incident took place on Thursday at around 1:00 AM in Bisheshe, Ibanda District. According to Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region police spokesperson, Ahimbisibwe was asleep in bed with Kyarisiima when Tindyebwa reportedly knocked on the door and ordered his mother to open it.

Upon entering, Tindyebwa allegedly went straight to his mother’s bedroom, armed with a machete, and attacked Ahimbisibwe, cutting his left leg and scrotum, causing the testicles to be severed.

During the struggle, Kyarisiima managed to restrain her son, allowing Ahimbisibwe to escape to his home, where he contacted his friend, Busingye Patrick, who rushed him to Ruhoko Health Center IV for treatment.

Kasasira stated that a case of attempted murder has been filed at Ibanda Central Police Station, and investigations are ongoing. Preliminary findings indicate that Ahimbisibwe had been a long-time lover of Kyarisiima, which angered the suspect.
