Two suspects held over murder in Kisoro

KISORO- The Police in Kisoro district have arrested two suspects in connection to the murder of 41-year-old-man in Nyakinama sub county.

The suspects are Uwineza Joyce (28) munyarwanda also a business woman and Ishimwe Alice aged 30 years, a house wife all residents of Burere village, Chihe parish, Nyakinama sub-county in Kisoro District.

ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police Spokes person identified the deceased as Kwiha Aloysi Muhozi alias senior Adam, a resident of Burere village, Chihe parish Nyakinama sub county in Kisoro district.

According to Maate, the case of murder by assault has been reported by Musezero Richard, aged 42 years also a District tourism officer and a resident of Burere village, Chihe parish, Nyakinama sub-county in kisoro District.

Maate alleges that on the 07/03/2023 at about 06:30 Pm at place known as Rasha in Burere village, the deceased went to a bar owned by Uwineza Joyce to demand his phone from Ishimwe Alice who had initially requested to use it.

Maate said that the deceased grabbed Alice demanding for his phone and then Joyce told him that he had instead kept the phone with her and she made efforts to separate them and the deceased again grabbed Joyce and as they moved out of the bar holding each other.

Maate note that in the same process they fell down on the steps where the deceased got injured on the head and started bleeding and was rushed to hospital where he got treatment and later taken back home where he later on died from yesterday.

He added that the scene was visited and examined, Phone of the deceased recovered from the suspect’s bar and body was taken to Kisoro hospital and post-mortem done.

He asserted that the two suspects were arrested at Kisoro Police Station to aid in investigations.
