Kabale District Council Approves UGX 601.9 Million Supplementary Budget

KABALE: Kabale District Council has approved a supplementary budget of UGX 601,925,622 Million.

The motion for the budget approval was presented to the council on Thursday by Bridget Asinga Tumwesigye, the Secretary for Finance, Planning, Administration, Works, and Technical Services.

The budget was unanimously approved by the council, which was presided over by the District Speaker, Flavia Nyinakiiza Kanagizi.

Asinga, who is also the District Female Councillor for Kyanamira Sub County, provided a breakdown of the funds: UGX 65,772,667 is allocated for development activities; UGX 296,775,498, which are unspent UGIFT balances, will be used to purchase irrigation kits under the Micro-Scale Irrigation Program; UGX 7,907,168 as unspent balances will go towards retention payments for the construction of a staff house at Karujuanga Health Center III, UGX 121,703,166 will cover retention payments for facilities at Kakomo Secondary School and Rukore High School and UGX 109,767,133, also unspent balances, will be used for the construction of the Karujanga Gravity Flow Scheme.

During the same council sitting, Kabale District LCV Chairperson, Nelson Nshangabasheija, praised the cooperation between the technical staff and the political wing, stating that this collaboration has greatly facilitated development in the district.
