In one of the traffic accidents, a motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle while carrying a passenger. The passenger, identified as Johnson Mbusa, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist, Musilam, died shortly after being taken to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital.
The second accident took place in Nyabugando, where a motorcycle, registration number UFL 292D, collided with an Actros trailer registered as RAE 489R.
A minor riding on the motorcycle was killed instantly, while the rider fled the scene. The trailer driver, Nzobinimba, is currently in custody at Bwera Police Division.
In addition to the accidents, Tumushime reported a third incident in which a 35-year-old man named Bwambale was killed by a crocodile while allegedly engaging in illegal fishing on Lake Edward in Katwe Kabatoro Town Council.
Lastly, an unidentified male body was recovered from River Nyamwamba in Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality.
The body has been taken to Kasese Municipal Council Health Center IV for a postmortem examination.
