Youth delegates from the Kigezi sub-region have thrown their weight behind Hillary Twasiima, the current Youth Chairperson NRM League in Kamuganguzi Sub County, Ndorwa West County, Kabale District, in his bid for National Youth Chairperson of the NRM League.
This endorsement solidifies Twasiima’s position as a frontrunner in the upcoming elections, with the Kigezi youth delegates pledging their support for his vision and leadership.
Twasiima was endorsed on Tuesday during a consultative meeting of youth delegates from the Six districts in Kigezi sub-region at White Horse Inn hotel in Kabale Municipality.
Speaking after his endorsement, Twasiima highlighted the major challenges affecting youth, including unemployment and lack of opportunities.
With experience in the iron mining industry, he pledged to lobby for job creation in industrial and factory sectors.
“If elected, I will advocate for the iron ore industry in Kigezi sub-region and serve as a bridge connecting young people to national and international opportunities,” Twasiima said.
He emphasized the importance of having a youth voice in the Central Executive Committee to address concerns directly with top leadership.
Trust Twesingomwe, Vice Chairperson of the Youth League in Kabale District, urged youth to vote for candidates demonstrating service and accountability.
“The Previous leadership has lacked accountability, hindering effective youth governance,” he noted.
Niwagaba Ivan, Chairperson of the Rubanda District Youth League, pledged support on behalf of Rubanda District.
“We will accompany Twasiima as he campaigns nationwide to gather support,” he promised.
Ngoma Jimmy Kabahena, Head of Logistics and Finance for Team Hillary, assured delegates of the team’s capability to campaign effectively across the nation, promising robust financial support.
Delegates from the Kigezi region expressed commitment to supporting Team Hillary, emphasizing collaboration’s importance to secure a win in the upcoming elections.
With their endorsement, Twasiima is poised to take on the challenge and make a difference for Uganda’s youth.
