KISORO: The Kisoro District LC5 Chairperson, Abel Bizimana, has threatened to dismiss the Chairperson of the District Lands Board, Honourable Roland Kanya Nkrumah, citing incompetence.
Speaking during a council session on Thursday, Bizimana accused Nkrumah of failing to take his duties seriously. As a result, Bizimana has formed a committee composed of district executive members and technocrats to investigate Nkrumah’s conduct.
Bizimana stated that he expects the committee’s findings within two weeks, after which a decision will be made on whether Nkrumah will continue to serve on the Lands Board.
The LC5 chairperson further criticized Nkrumah for frequently missing lands board meetings, which he said has hampered the board’s effectiveness. He pointed to an instance where Nkrumah failed to attend a two-week induction session in Mbarara District, which was intended to train board members on their roles and responsibilities.
