RUBANDA: Authorities in Rubanda District, in partnership with the International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC), have launched the rehabilitation of the 13.4-kilometer Kashaasha-Ihunga road, which connects Ikumba Sub-county to Nshanjare Town Council. The project, costing Shs. 1.6 billion, is aimed at improving accessibility in the area.

Speaking at the launch in Ihunga, Nshanjare Town Council on Thursday, Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba emphasized that the rehabilitation was long overdue. He noted that despite the district’s annual maintenance efforts, the road had been a persistent concern for locals.

When IFDC offered a budget to support roadwork’s in the district, Kasyaba prioritized the Kashaasha-Ihunga road. He also shared that the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) had pledged to fund the road’s maintenance after its completion.
