KABALE – The Kabale District Security Committee has beefed up security operations and patrols to enhance safe movement and security for people within Kabale Municipality and surrounding areas ahead of Christmas.
The operations, which began last week, targeted Boda Boda riders, leading to several impoundments.
Ronald Andrew Babak, Kabale Deputy Resident Commissioner, mentioned that those impounded were caught working at night, hiding number plates, not residents of Kabale town, and not attached to any stage. The initiative responds to increased criminality within the municipality, with thugs and machete wielders terrorizing people’s lives.
Addressing Kabale journalists at the District headquarters, Resident District Commissioner Godfrey Nyakahuma stated that Uganda Police Force (UPF) and Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) have been deployed to ensure peace, stability, and a reduction in crime rates. Security measures extend to churches to thwart potential ADF terrorist threats during the festive season.
Nyakahuma urged the public and church leaders to implement thorough checks on individuals entering churches. He emphasized the importance of reporting any suspicious activities to authorities and collaborating with security personnel to ensure a safe and peaceful festive season.
