Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, reported that the first incident involved Babra Ninsiima, 27, a bar attendant at Matanda Trading Center. On October 30, 2024, at about 9:00 AM, Ninsiima developed symptoms of vomiting and severe stomach pain.
Her employer’s wife, Mutesa, rushed her to Kigezi Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. A team of officers from Kihihi Police Station visited the scene, and her body was taken to Kihihi Health Center mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The second incident involved Nabasiita Promise, approximately 28, also a bar attendant at Matanda Trading Center. At about 10:00 PM on the same day, her employer, Emmanuel, received a phone call from Sunday, the chairman of the boda boda stage at Matanda.
Sunday informed Emmanuel that Nabasiita appeared to be in distress. When they reached her door, they heard her screaming inside. Forcing the door open, they found her in critical condition. Nabasiita was rushed to Kihihi Health Centre IV, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Maate noted that Nabasiita reportedly had a history of demonic attacks and may have inflicted injuries on herself. The scene was documented, and a postmortem examination was conducted at Kihihi Health Centre IV.
