314 Candidates Failed 2022 PLE in Kabale.

KABALE: A total of 314 Primary Seven Candidates completely failed the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations in Kabale district.

According to the Kabale district inspector of school Wilberforce Nabaasa this is attributed to cases of absenteeism and strikes among teachers and head teachers.  Nabaasa said that the errant teachers and head teachers of the worst performing schools in the district have so far been called to face the district rewards and sanction for disciplinary measures.

He told our reporter that action has already been taken revealing that some names have been submitted for dismissal and others demoted .

According to the Burimba Primary School Assistant Headteacher December Necodemus in Rubaya Sub County, 17 pupils sat for Primary Leaving Examinations 2022, only 4 pupils passed in division three and the rest failed completely.

Necodemus attributed the failure of pupils to lack of midday meals, long distances, and parents forcing pupils into domestic works, failure to conduct remedial and preps to equip pupils with knowledge and making them have no time for studying. The school has been named the worst performing in the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations in the district.

According to statistics, 3771 primary seven candidates sat for Primary Leaving Examination 2022 in Kabale district, 237 passed in division I, 1805 in division II, 880 in division III, 395 in division IV and 140 did not sit for the examinations.
