Assoc. Prof. Rev. Medard Rugyendo Appointed Chairperson Governing Council AICM-Kabale.

The former Principal of Bishop Barham University College, a Constituent College of Uganda Christian University Assoc. Prof. Rev. Can. Dr. Medard Rugyendo has been appointed as the Chairperson governing council for African International Christian Ministry (AICM) in Kabale district.

His appointment was brought forward before the governing Council members, institutions administration and parents for approval by the founder and the Chairman Board of Directors of African International Christian Ministry (AICM) Bishop Emeritus of North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Rt. Reverend Enock Kayeye at the institution premises in Rushambya-Kirigime ward, Southern Division in Kabale Municipality during the Institution’s Annual general meeting.

Bishop Emeritus Kayeye later announced Assoc. Prof. Rev. Medard Rugyendo as the Chairperson governing council for African International Christian Ministry (AICM) after his name was anonymously approved by the said members.

According to Denis Muchunguzi Executive Director, African International Christian Ministry (AICM) Rugyendo has been appointed basing on his experience and dedication to AICM.

Muchunguzi revealed that Prof. Rugyendo is replacing the late Prof. Olu Poti Omron from Eastern Uganda who passed away last year.

Assoc. Prof. Rev. Can. Dr. Medard Rugyendo is currently an Associate Professor of Christian Religion in Ethics and teaches Religious Studies in Humanities department at Kabale University.

During the Same Meeting, a total of 851,815,970 million shillings have been passed as an Estimated budget for 2023 to aid in the running of couple of activities at African International Christian Ministry (AICM).

Denis Muchunguzi Executive Director, African International Christian Ministry (AICM) says that the money will help in purchase of One Automatic Motor vehicle to supplement the One they had for Driving and Mechanics Class, kick start of African International Christian Ministry (AICM) Sacco that has been initiated by the Founder of the Institution Bishop Emeritus Kayeye that is aimed at bringing together over 40,000 students that have passed the Institution, help in conservation of Lake Bunyonyi, spearhead development among Batwa Communities among others.

Muchunguzi adds that in the coming year, they intend to build a Five storied Multipurpose building that will house library, Lecture Rooms, Main Hall, ICT Room among others.
