Rukiga MP Emphasizes Unity & Mindset Change as Key to Students’ Success & Bright Future

KABALE – The Rukiga district Woman Member of Parliament, Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi has emphasized the importance of unity and a change in mindset for students to excel in their studies and build a promising future.

Her message as the guest of honor was conveyed by Samuel Niwandinda, the vice LC 5 chairman of Rukiga district, during the handover and swearing-in ceremony of the Bishop Barham Rukiga Students Association at Bishop Barham University College at Rugarama hill in Northern division in Kabale municipality.

 

Kamusiime cautioned students against engaging in homosexuality, emphasizing that it brings shame and poses dangers to their lives. She also advised students to steer clear of divisive politics, as many politicians tend to exploit young people for their campaigns and forget about them once they are elected.

She also called upon the incoming leaders of the association to work together for its improvement and expressed gratitude to the outgoing leaders for their commendable work.

During his speech the Rukiga County hopeful Member of Parliament, Capt. Christmas Damson Kivumbi urged students to maintain focus and determination in their studies, avoiding negative peer groups and prioritizing their faith in God.

He encouraged students to nurture their creativity and aspire to become job creators instead of relying solely on white-collar jobs, which are scarce in Uganda.

Barnabas Muzahura, the outgoing president of the association, emphasized that their primary objective was to assist fellow Rukiga students in various aspects, a goal they successfully accomplished.

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his team for their cooperation, acknowledging that their unity was instrumental in their achievements.

 

Muzahura called upon the incoming team to continue fostering such collaboration for a successful tenure.
