KANUNGU: A 25-year-old-boda-boda cyclist has died on spot in Kanungu road fatal accident.
Asp Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokes person has identified the deceased as crescent Niwamanya a resident of karangara village, butogota Subcounty in kanungu district.
Maate says, a fatal road traffic accident involved Motor Vehicle reg no. UBF 060t Isuzu of highway bus company and white in color and motor Cycle reg no. UFF 734p Bajaj red in color being ridden by crescent Niwamanya now the deceased.
Maate also says, the fatal accident left other two victims identified as Natamba Meverous (24) a house wife and Natukunda Truth (23) both who were passengers on the motor cycle and residents of karangara village, Butogota Subcounty in kanungu district.
Maate confided to www.thesourceug.com that the road fatal accident occurred on 14/11/2022 at around 04:30 AM at kiboroga along butogota -kanyantoro highway in kanungu district.
According to Maate, it’s alleged that while both the Motor Vehicle and Motor Cycle were moving to the same direction, one of the passengers on Motor Cycle realized that the bus was approaching, jumped off and made the rider to lose control and fell hence was crushed and died on spot, while the two passengers on board were injured.
He noted that police visited the scene, the victims were rushed to katate Health Center four and body, to the same Health Center mortuary for postmortem.
He added, both the Motor Vehicle and Motor Cycle are parked at kanungu police station for IOV inspection.
A statement on fatal road accident has been registered at Kanungu police station under reference number TAR 44/2022.
