Minister of Finance (General Duties), Hon. Henry Musasizi, has called on religious leaders to use their pulpits to preach messages of love and unity among Christians, in line with Biblical teachings.
Minister Musasizi made the appeal while donating a new pulpit to Butuurwa Church of Uganda, located in Kyocyezo Parish, Nyamweru Sub-county, Rubanda East County, Rubanda District.
The donation was made on Pentecost Sunday, a significant Christian holiday observed on the 49th day after Easter. Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles in Jerusalem during the Feast of Weeks, as recorded in Acts 2:1–31.
“Wherever I go, I usually ask how I can support ongoing church projects. When I last met leaders of this church, they informed me that their most urgent need was a pulpit. Today, I am delighted to hand over this new pulpit. We hope that God’s word will be proclaimed from here to transform lives for years to come,” Minister Musasizi said.

He emphasized the Church’s vital role in promoting unity, especially at a time when, according to him, some selfish politicians and individuals without development programs are attempting to sow division among the people.
“The Church is one of the best-positioned platforms for preaching love, especially in today’s climate. We urge you, the religious leaders, to join us in the campaign to unite God’s people and work together to build our country,” he added.
