KISORO – Tumuheirwe John, the former Chairperson of Kirundo sub-county and Rubuguri town council LC3, has recently announced his candidacy for the chairmanship of the Nkuringo Community Development Foundation (NCDF) in the upcoming elections.
The NCDF operates within the Nkuringo and Rubuguri town councils and is led by Asgario Turyagyenda. The leadership of NCDF holds a term of 7 years, rotating between the two town councils.
According to the provided roadmap, the election is scheduled for September 27, 2023, with nominations taking place on September 4th of this year.
With just under a month left until the polling date, Tumuheirwe John has emerged as the first candidate to openly declare his bid for the chairmanship position. He confidently asserts that he possesses all the requisite qualifications and qualities necessary to lead NCDF effectively and elevate it to a prominent organization.
“In the upcoming elections,” Tumuheirwe stated, “I am fully prepared to collaborate closely with fellow leaders to tackle the pertinent issues within the organization. Once elected, my priority will be to align the organization’s focus towards benefiting the community rather than catering to individual interests.”
Speaking about his plans for improvement, Tumuheirwe encouraged all eligible voters to complete their registration promptly, aiming to secure the highest number of votes possible. He aims to complement the ongoing efforts of the mayors of Rubuguri and Nkuringo town councils with his ambitious and effective leadership.
While discussing the broader context, Tumuheirwe expressed concern over the rising misuse of social media, highlighting the unfortunate trend of innocent individuals falling victim to blackmail. He emphasized the importance of utilizing social media in constructive and developmental ways, fostering positive change within the community.
In his pursuit of the chairmanship, Tumuheirwe John not only seeks to lead but also to inspire meaningful progress and unity within the Nkuringo Community Development Foundation.
