KIGEZI: There is currently a brewing conflict between the Kigezi leaders and Rukiga County Member of Parliament, Hon. Roland Ndyomugyenyi Bish, over his continued use of social media while allegedly intoxicated.
Kigezi leaders are accusing Hon. Roland Ndyomugyenyi of frequently posting on social media when he is not sober, which they claim has undermined the reputation expected of someone in his position.
Recently, Hon. Ndyomugyenyi posted on WhatsApp that the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, who also serves as the Kinkinzi Member of Parliament, has not helped Kigezi in any meaningful way and should not be mentioned at all.
Ndyomugyenyi further described Baryomunsi as “Embeeho” (meaning useless), citing his unfulfilled pledge to provide computers to Kihanga Secondary School as evidence of his ineffectiveness in Kigezi.
Hon. Ndyomugyenyi added that he only respects the State Minister of Finance and General Duties, Hon. Henry Musasizi Ariganyira, because he has secured more funds for Kigezi than former Prime Ministers Ruhakana Rugunda, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, and the State Minister of Trade and Cooperatives, Hon. David Bahati, combined.
In response, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi advised Ndyomugyenyi to focus on his responsibilities as an MP and allow others to perform their duties. He further suggested that Ndyomugyenyi should refrain from making such posts unless he is sober.
Senior lawyer Patrick Kiconco Katabazi also advised the legislator to avoid using social media while intoxicated, emphasizing that the achievements of Minister Musasizi should not be used to undermine the significant contributions of other leaders.
