KABALE – Several churches in Kabale Municipality have bolstered security measures at entrances to remain vigilant against potential criminals.

Following a directive from Elly Maate, the police spokesperson in Kigezi Sub-region, these places of worship now employ metal detectors and walk-through machines, along with increased personnel, to ensure the safety of attendees.

Venerable Emmanuel Namanya, the Archdeacon of All Saints Church in Kabale Municipality, shared that they sought assistance from Kabale Central Police Station to deploy security personnel during Christmas prayers.

This proactive approach aims to prevent insecurity, particularly in light of rising incidents in Uganda involving suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) militants. Security guards at All Saints Church were observed equipped with metal detectors to thoroughly inspect everyone’s belongings, ensuring a high level of security.
