KABALE – Over six million shillings and 120 bags of cement were yesterday successfully raised during a fundraising ceremony dedicated to completing the construction of the Visitor’s house at Kahungye Catholic Church in Kahungye Sub County, Ndorwa West, Kabale District.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Hilary Bakamwesiga Mbona, a hopeful candidate for the Ndorwa West parliamentary seat, conveyed his commitment to provide ongoing financial support and prayers to the parishioners of Kahungye until the construction project reaches its fruition.
Dr. Hilary extended his heartfelt gratitude to the devoted Christians and leaders of Kahungye Catholic Church, as well as other congregations in the region, for their commendable efforts in promoting Christianity and spirituality.
He emphasized how their collective actions have brought people closer to God and encouraged them to persevere in their virtuous endeavors.
Furthermore, he urged the residents of Kigezi to collaborate with their families and engage in agriculture, especially now that the rains have begun.

This, he asserted, would empower them to combat famine and poverty in the near future.Dr. Hilary passionately called upon the youth to actively participate in developmental initiatives that can uplift their communities.
He also appealed for a reduction in alcohol consumption, citing Kabale’s unfortunate second-place ranking in national alcohol consumption, which he deemed a matter of shame, largely attributed to excessive leisure time.
Additionally, Dr. Hillary stressed the importance of parents prioritizing their children’s education, emphasizing that it paves the way for a brighter future for both children and parents.
As a gesture of support, Dr. Hillary generously contributed four hundred thousand shillings towards the construction of the Father’s house.
