The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, has ordained 18 deacons and seven priests during an ordination service held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Rugarama, in Northern Division, Kabale Municipality, with a call on them to serve the Church with unity, humility, and commitment to the authority entrusted to them.
Bishop Akanjuna also asked them to faithfully shepherd Christians under their care and remain steadfast in guiding believers in the right faith without allowing them to be misled by false prophets and misleading teachings.
Bishop Akanjuna further encouraged the ordinands to continue respecting and serving God, who had enabled them to attain this important milestone in their ministry. He reminded them that preaching the Gospel and leading people to salvation is a demanding responsibility that requires patience, dedication, and constant prayer.
He cautioned them against being deceived by Satan, urging them instead to continually seek God’s guidance in their work. He emphasized the importance of remaining faithful to Church teachings and diligently strengthening the spiritual lives of Christians entrusted to their leadership.
