KASESE – Police in Kasese District have apprehended Muhindo Jackson for the alleged murder of his wife, Biira Mary, reported initially as a disappearance case earlier this year at Mukunyu trading centre.
After enduring an abusive relationship with the victim for a decade, the suspect, under pressure from the victim’s relatives in September 2023, confessed to the crime during police interrogation.
Biira Mary, a 40-year-old peasant of Mukuuyu trading centre, was killed in January 2023, and her body was clandestinely buried.
Shockingly, further investigations revealed that the suspect also murdered his biological brother, Kabutusi Jolesi, in July 2023, burying the body in Kyabikere 1 village, Kanyasi town council, Kasese district.
The suspect, believed to be involved in witchcraft and childless in his marriage, instilled fear in the community due to his malevolence.
SCP Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police spokesperson, vehemently denounced such acts of violence and brutality within domestic settings, highlighting the need for societal vigilance and condemnation against such heinous crimes.
