KAZO – Police in Kazo District are currently investigating a gruesome murder case involving two elderly individuals.
The victims have been identified as Baryahebwa John, aged 96, a resident of Buremba Central Cell in Kizohwa Parish, Buremba Town Council, Kazo District, and his wife, Kenyangi Zeldah, aged 86.
Both were brutally attacked and killed using pangas in their home during the night of 23/09/2023, at an unknown time.
It is alleged that unidentified individuals broke into their home on the aforementioned night and carried out the horrific act.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased couple had been embroiled in domestic disputes with their son regarding land matters.
In an effort to aid the investigation, a police dog was deployed to the scene, and it successfully tracked down an individual named Bainomugisha Godwin, who is currently cooperating with law enforcement in their inquiries into this murder.
Samson Kasasira, the spokesperson for the Rwizi Region Police, has reported that the bodies of the deceased have been transported to Kazo Health Center IV for a postmortem examination.
The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
