Angry residents of Muhindura Village in Kanaba Sub County, Kisoro District, on Wednesday blocked the Kisoro–Kabale Road to protest the delayed selection of Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs).
The exercise, which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday at Kagano Playground, was postponed to Wednesday. However, by midday, officials were yet to arrive, sparking frustration among residents. The protesters mounted roadblocks at Kasheregyeni Trading Centre using tree logs and stones, leaving motorists stranded. Some drivers who attempted to force their way through were reportedly assaulted.
