KABALE – The Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Atwakiire Catheline Ndamira, is urging parents in Kabale District to play an active role in their children’s lives, emphasizing the importance of protecting them from sexual violence and teenage pregnancy during the upcoming long school holiday.
Her message, conveyed by political assistant Mr. Alex Akampurila during the Kacwekano Revival Terbacle Church Fundraising drive, aims to collect funds for the construction of a new church at Kacwekano Hill in Mwendo Kitumba subcounty, Kabale District.
Hon. Atwakiire stressed the need for parents to be vigilant in preventing early marriages and highlighted the importance of shielding children from potential abusers, be they relatives, neighbors, or strangers.
In a positive development, Hon. Atwakiire, through her political assistant Mr. Alex Akampurila, also participated in the fundraising mass for St. Stephen Kirigime Catholic Church in Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.
The mass, presided over by Rev Fr. Birungi Fred of Christ the King parish, reflected her commitment to community initiative.
