
KABALE: The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira on Saturday confirmed 16 inmates into the Catholic faith during a Mass at Ndorwa Government Prison in Kabale Municipality.
The confirmed inmates are; Tadeo Muhumuza, Levi Agaba, Hosea Nahurira, Elias Rutaremwa, Innocent Byaruhanga, Brian Arineitwe, Moses Tumusiime, Dismas Byomugabe, Derrick Tumwesigye, Fabias Nayakiira, Anthony Mfitumukiza, Joseph Niwagaba, Elia Bikorwamuhangi, Justus Twesigye, Davis Nsabimana, and Maria Donavensi Aturinda.
During his homily, Bishop Rubaramira urged the newly confirmed inmates to remain steadfast in their faith, drawing hope and strength from God as they navigate their challenging circumstances.
Bishop Rubaramira emphasized that despite their current hardships, the inmates are not alone and can always find solace and hope in God’s love.
Bishop Rubaramira urged the inmates to stay connected to the word of God, which fosters spiritual growth and understanding of His boundless love. He reminded them of the significance of faith and unity, stressing that life goes beyond the walls of the prison.
In line with the Diocese’s celebrations for the 2025 Jubilee Year, centered on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” as declared by Pope Francis, Kabale Diocese also made a generous donation to the inmates. The donation included food items and essential personal items like soap. The Jubilee Year is a time for spiritual renewal, reflection, and pilgrimage for Catholics around the world.

The Officer in Charge of Ndorwa Government Prison, Julius Kisembo, advised the confirmed inmates to remain firm in their faith and to become examples of strength and perseverance within the prison community.
