Museveni Appoints Maj Gen Takirwa Deputy Commander Land Force.

KAMPALA:

President Museveni who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces has appointed and promoted Major General Francis Takirwa as the acting Deputy Commander Land Force.

Major General Francis Takirwa has been serving as the 2nd Division Commander in the Uganda People’s Défense Force Makenke in Mbarara.

Maj Gen Takirwa will deputize Maj Gen Muhanga Kayanja who replaced Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba Commander Land Force in October this year.

In a press release seen by our reporter dated 7^th December 2022, signed by Col Deo Akiiki as the substantive Defense and army spokesperson, President Museveni also appointed Major General JA Bakasumba as the Acting Chief of Staff Land Force.

Museveni also promoted Brigadier General Bob P Ogiki to Major General and appointed him as the 2 Division Commander.

“The ministry of Defense and veteran affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the General officers upon their well-deserved promotion and appointments.” Col Deo Akiiki said.
